Hyundai Motor and Kia sold a total

Hyundai Motor Group announced on the 2nd that Hyundai Motor (including Genesis) and Kia sold 125,693 units in the U.S. last month, up 2.0% from October last year.

This is the best performance of October ever, and sales have increased year-on-year for 15 consecutive months since August last year.

By company, Hyundai Motor Company sold 66,529 units, a 2.4 percent increase, and Kia Motors Corporation sold 59,164 units, a 1.5 percent increase, to the U.S. market. Sales of Hyundai Motor’s luxury brand Genesis increased 31.5 percent to 5,724 units.

Eco-friendly vehicles, including electric vehicles, were prominent in U.S. market sales last month. In addition, the company did well to promote recreational vehicles (RVs), which Americans prefer.

Hyundai Motor and Kia sold a total of 28,834 eco-friendly cars in the U.S. last month, up 29.0% from the same month last year.

By company, Hyundai Motor sold 12,802 eco-friendly cars, an increase of 63.6%, accounting for nearly 20% of total sales (19.2%).

Kia sold 8,32 eco-friendly cars, down 3.5 percent.

In particular, electric vehicles sold a total of 7,661 units in the aftermath of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), recording a high growth rate of 118.9%.

The main players were Hyundai Motor’s Ioniq 5 (2,979), Kia’s EV6 (1,542) and Genesis GV60 (353). These vehicles showed growth rates of 88.7%, 30.0%, and 75.6%, respectively.

Hybrid vehicles (HEVs) also increased by 4.2% with a total of 13,150 units sold.

Hyundai Motor’s Tucson HEV (3,232 units), Kia Sportage HEV (2,581 units), Hyundai Motor’s Elantra HEV (1,767), Hyundai Motor’s Santa Fe HEV (1,693) and Niro HEV (1,622 units) sold well in that order.
The new Avante N1 cup car has a new wide tire based on the “The New Avante N,” and improved wide fenders and front and rear bumpers. As a result, the speed of cornering has increased and the aerodynamic performance has improved, according to Hyundai Motor.

The best-selling Kia model last month was 11,053 units of Sportage, followed by K39,393 units and Telluride 8,533 units.
