Audi will unveil the Audi e-tron prototype, the brand’s first SUV electric vehicle model, for the first time in the world at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show.
According to Audi on the 6th, Audi will unveil the Audi e-tron prototype for the first time in the world at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show and conduct test runs during the motor show. Audi e-tron test vehicles are decorated with design films produced by Audi Design to emphasize the characteristics of pure electric vehicle models.
The new A6 is equipped with an MMI touch response system. The driver can intuitively and easily control the car function through the front digital operation system. Drag-and-drop methods are also available like smartphone apps. By using the favorite function, you can collect and view functions that you use often. Another advantage is that up to 7 drivers can set the menu to suit their taste by combining 400 items. It is also equipped with a natural language recognition function, which allows data to be retrieved, destination to be entered as voice in navigation, and information on the cloud can be processed in both directions.
There are two types of engines, gasoline turbo TFSI and diesel TDI. The V6 3.0-liter gasoline turbo engine is certified with a fuel efficiency of about 14.1 to 14.9 km per composite liter in European standards depending on the lineup. The performance is up to 250 horsepower, up to about 51.0 kg·m, and 0→100 km/h arrival time 5.1 seconds. The V6 3.0-liter diesel engine has a maximum performance of 280 horsepower and a maximum of about 63.2 kg·m. The fuel efficiency is about 17.2 to 18.2 km per composite liter.
All new A6 lineups are equipped with the latest mild hybrid technology. The Belt Alternator Starter (BAS) works with lithium-ion batteries. It can drive coasting at 55-160 kilometers per hour, reducing fuel consumption. The start-stop function operates up to 22 kilometers per hour. BAS recovers up to 12 kW of energy during deceleration. The company explains that it can reduce fuel consumption by up to 0.7 liters when driving 100 kilometers per hour.
Progressive steering, which is applied by default, emphasized more dynamism compared to previous generations. Suspension damping accurately separates and transmits road surface reactions. The company emphasized that its unique four-wheel drive system quattro has a precise sense of steering and stability that does not shake on various roads.
The new car’s aerodynamic coefficient is only 0.24Cd, and its sleek design contributed to improving fuel efficiency and driving performance as well as visual beauty. At the same time, it has secured more interior space than before. The rear leg room, head room, and shoulder room were designed to be wider. The trunk can be opened with electricity through foot movement.
The MMI touch response system notifies the driver whether it is operating with vibration (haptic) or sound. As soon as the function is executed with the finger, the reaction can be checked with the hands and ears. While operating the infotainment through the upper display, temperature control, text input, convenience functions, etc. can be used as the lower display
MMI Navigation Plus can be selected as a convenience item. The new LTE advanced standard is used, and it provides fast and accurate guidance services. Route guidance is provided online by IT company HERE. Audi Connect online service collects more accurate traffic information through cluster intelligence obtained from several Audi cars.
The driver assistance function is equipped with a parking pilot, a garage pilot, a city assist package including a crossing assistance function, adaptive cruise assist using lane departure warnings, and efficiency assistance to help economic driving.
During the Geneva Motor Show, the Audi e-Tron prototype toured major locations, including Place du Mallard, a pedestrian area, Gare Cornavin, a railway station, the Jet d’Eau, a fountain in Lake Geneva, and the ̂le Rousseau in Geneva.
